Elevation means more snow and far more melt-and-refreeze cycling than eastern Massachusetts sees — and every cycle works water into asphalt seams and lifts them. Interlock's panels lock on all four sides with no exposed lap for meltwater to get under, and the surface sheds snow rather than holding a saturated mat against the deck. Ice-dam meltwater loses its way in — there is no exposed seam to leak through. (Dam formation itself is an attic issue: insulation and ventilation, which we check at every estimate.)
